Abstract
Based on the field data from the full-scale measurements of the low-rise building during typhoon 'Hagupit', the characteristics of mean, fluctuating and peak pressure coefficients on the leading edges of the roof and the roof-corner regions were investigated in this paper, and the corresponding area-averaged wind pressure coefficients were summarized. Contours plots of the mean, minimum, maximum and RMS pressure coefficients on the roof surface were also presented. The results show that, strong suction and high pressure regions on the leading edges and roof-corner regions were induced by the updrafts and downdrafts of wind flows near the eye of the typhoon. The negative extreme values and the positive peak values of the area averaged pressure coefficient were -6.56 and 3.42, respectively. The spectra of the surface pressure fluctuations on the eading edges and roof-corner regions were in good agreement. It was found that turbulence integral length scale has little effect on the mean pressure coefficients.
