Abstract
An offset tri-patch microstrip antenna of percentage bandwidth 48% is reported recently [1]. It is found that the complexity in geometry of the antenna can be modified. In this paper, a two-layer five-patch microstrip antenna using coplanar technique i.e., additional patch is etched on the same layer, is investigated. A simpler geometry with similar bandwidth(44.5%) is obtained. The radiation patterns of the antenna will also be presented.
