Abstract

The sizes of the U-slot patch antennas with shorting wall and shorting pin was discussed. The bandwidth and the gain of the reduced size antennas were similar to the original U-slot structures. It was observed that in both the cases impedance bandwidth of 28% and 21% could be achieved. The cross polarization levels were observed to be considerably higher than conventional patch antennas.
