Abstract

In this paper, a novel wideband circularly-polarized patch antenna is presented. The patch antenna is excited by a broadband feed network having a 10-dB return loss bandwidth of 86% and a consistent 90° (± 3°) phase difference between two output ports over a wideband of 76%. It is found that the antenna can deliver a measured impedance bandwidth of 79.4% for SWR<2, 2-dB and 3-dB axial-ratio simulated bandwidths of 56% and 63.8%, respectively, and the simulated bandwidth of 59.3% for the gain > 3dBi. © 2005 IEEE.
