    Abstract

Aluminum matrix composites (AMCs) are widely used in the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries due to their low cost, high mechanical properties, and excellent design performance. While the significance of research into the primary fabrication processes and property characterization of these materials is well recognized, research into their secondary processing technologies-such as machining, welding/joining, and plastic forging-has also become critically important and requires urgent attention. This chapter addresses techniques for welding AMCs, specifically SiCp/A356, with the aim of pinpointing key information related to the characteristics of welded joints in AMCs. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
