Abstract
Wavelength-controlled lasing in ZnxCd1-xS single-crystal nanoribbons for a broad range of compositions of x was analyzed. X-ray diffraction (XRD) revealed that all ZnxCd1-xS nanoribbons had a hexagonal structure. The composition x was deduced by analyzing the position of the (002) and (101) XRD peaks and using Vegard's law. Photoluminescence measurements showed that the near-band-gap emission of these nanoribbons shifted continuously from ∼340 nm to ∼515 nm.
