Abstract
A waveguide excited dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) was investigated. Excitations methods for the dielectric resonator antenna, such as the coaxial probe feed, the aperture coupling using the microstripline, the direct microstripline feed and the conformal strip feed were investigated and it was found that the obtained configuration can be used as a dual band antenna. The waveguides had metallic walls that provided shielding between the exterior and interior avoiding radiation loss of the feedline.
