Abstract
The entire absorption spectrum of PuF6 in the near IR and visible regions has been obtained at 0.5 cm-1 or higher resolution. A detailed analysis of the vibronic energy levels is presented and spectroscopic assignments of all observed transitions are made. The energy levels obtained from these spectroscopic measurements of the gas phase PuF6 molecule are the most accurate values available. A comparison is shown of our assignments and results with the matrix-isolation experiment and available theoretical studies.
