Abstract
A study was performed on vacuum ultraviolet laser pulsed field ionization photoelectron (PFI-PE) study of trans-2-butene. The PFI-PE spectrum was compared to the PFI-photoion (PFI-PI) spectrum for trans-2-butene. It was found that the experimental conditions used in the PFI-PE study also led to an ionization energy (IE) value of about 20 cm-1 lower than that obtained in the PFI-PE measurement.
