N2 - We find that properly treated epoxy (OPTOCAST 3505) is non-photosensitive at the UV-wavelength 248 nm. Using it as the cladding material, several buried channel waveguide devices written into benzocyclobutene by the UV technique are demonstrated. © 2005 Optical Society of America.
