Abstract
This is a memorial volume dedicated to the memory of PEST (Political Economy and Social Theory Group) reproducing papers originally published in Papers in Urban and Regional Studies between 1977 and 1980. PEST was dedicated to research into theorisation within urban studies and adoption of Marxian and other critical perspectives. The papers mirror the concern for 'theoretical support and empirical ammunition for political action'. The transdisciplinary approach to urban study has been slow to develop and Castell's early work produced much of the basis for development. The individual papers are abstracted separately.-K.A.Cowlard
