Abstract

使用與滿足是傳播學最流行和最重要的理論之一。本文批判性地回顧了該理論的起源與發展,分析了該理論的潛在假設以及對該理論的批評。該理論在還沒充分發展成系統的實證理論之前,已經制度化於傳播學研究中。一方面它被當成是一個正式的理論而被廣泛運用到對媒介採納、選擇、使用,接觸的研究中,另一方面它越來越趨向於一個標簽化的理論而非正式的系統的實證理論。
The paper is a critical review of the emergence and development of U&G. By analyzing the underlying hypotheses and the criticisms, the auther considered that the U&G has been institutionalized in communication before it has been well developed as a systematic theory. U&G is well adopted to analyze the media adoption, choice, and use/exposure, while U&G is becoming a theoretical label rather than a formal, systematic, and empirical theory.
