Abstract
This paper reviews two documentaries about Hong Kong film director Ann Hui--As Years Gone By (1997) and Keep Rolling (2020)--to examine the identity issues faced by her through interchangeable terms like home vs. abroad, immigrant vs. refugee, and literature vs. film.
