Abstract
The soil plastisphere, a new man-made environment that stems from widespread plastic pollution, is becoming better understood, especially its microbial, physical, and chemical risks. But much remains to be learned about the microbes assembling on this surface to avoid risks arising from ecological and evolutionary mechanisms contributing to the plastisphere microbiome. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
