Abstract
The frequency of a microstrip oscillator is difficult to tune. A new millimeter-wave microstrip Gunn oscillator is introduced in this Letter. Consisting of fin line and microstrip with microstrip as the output-port transmission line, this Gunn oscillator can be mechanically frequency tuned. A Ka-band oscillator of this structure is developed. The tuning bandwidth of this oscillator can reach 7.5 GHz or more with an output power of more than 70 mW.
