Abstract

With the increasing emphasis on accountability in higher education, outcome-based education (OBE) has been receiving a lot of attention and raising issues for debate. OBE has been implemented in many institutions, ranging from primary schools to universities and the concept of learning outcomes have now been commonly used in studies relating to pedagogy and teaching strategies. In these settings, the technology aspect of supporting OBE has seldom been systematically discussed. To bridge this gap, we proposed in this paper a framework of a computer-based system to support OBE. Support would be provided to different aspects such as information management, statistical correlation and holistic achievement visualization of students. © 2007 IEEE.
