Abstract
The Tin Ka Ping (TKP) P.A.T.H.S. Project is a pioneer positive youth development program implemented in China. In this study, subjective outcome evaluation data from two junior secondary schools in mainland China were used to reach a tentative understanding of students’ opinions about program design, program instructors, and benefits of the program. Consistent with pervious findings in Hong Kong, the great majority of the students showed positive feelings of the program content, instructors, and program effectiveness. As predicted, program content, instructors, and effectiveness were significantly inter-correlated. Perceived program content and quality of instruction were also identified to be significant predictors of program effectiveness perceived by student participants. The present findings suggest that TKP P.A.T.H.S. program was well received by the students in mainland China.
