Abstract
Marangoni convection in a cavity with a non-planar free upper surface and differentially heated sidewalls is investigated. The results show the existence of limit points beyond which processes leading to the interface rupture set in. It is demonstrated that the cavity over-filling may delay the onset of the rupture. © 2004 American Institute of Physics.
