Abstract

A new family of pentagonal waveguides is proposed for high-power microwave transmission. The propagation characteristics of the waveguides are analyzed by using the Conformal Mapping combined Finite Difference Method (CMFD). A novel means of experiment for measuring cutoff frequencies of the waveguides with arbitrary cross section is also proposed and applied successfully.
