Abstract

This paper presents the author s new approach in supervising social work students in fieldwork placement. The new approach, supervision by objectives, stresses the importance of planned teaching and participatory learning. Both quantitative and qualitative evaluations have shown that this approach can help students learn more effectively and can facilitate a more objective assessment of students' performance.
