Abstract

Collection of 166 photographs of Tokyo's curb ramps (60x40cm printed and mounted on cardboard) as part of the exhibition at Tokyo Biennale 2025
During her strolls through Tokyo, Elke Reinhuber's Alter Ego, the Urban Beautician, observed the wide variety of curb ramps in many streets. Adorned with patterned designs of stars and dots or other decorations, they almost resemble nail extensions in diverse shades of grey, sometimes with a touch of rusty orange.
