Abstract
The piezoelectric shear strain coefficient of Pb(Zn1/3Nb 2/3)O3-PbTiO3 piezocrystals was measured as functions of dc bias field and frequency using a Zygo laser interferometer system. High piezoelectric coefficients were obtained in the absence of dc bias. The results showed that the piezocrystals were promising materials for high performance shear transducers.
