Abstract
In this paper we propose a universal optimal design criterion of phase spreading sequence for direct sequence spread spectrum multiple access (DS/SSMA) system with full response continuous phase modulation (CPM) over Rayleigh fading channel. Structural properties of phase spreading sequence are derived. Examples of phase spreading sequences for different lengths are designed by computer search. The performance of CPFSK DS/SSMA system with suboptimal phase spreading sequences in Rayleigh fading channel is evaluated by computer simulation. © 1999 IEEE
