Abstract

This paper reports the application of a microfluidic method for the study of multi-drug resistance and its inhibition in a single cancer cell. In this work, we extended our previous microfluidic single-cell work on yeast cells and muscle cells to the study of single leukemia cells. The drug efflux measurement was conducted on one and the same single cell, and this new method was dubbed as same-single-cell analysis (SASCA). This method has the advantage of tracking a single cell over a long period of time, which helps solve the problem of cellular variations found in different-single-cell analysis (DISCA). © 2008CBMS.
