Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the use of mobile phones and social network sites (SNS), and the online and offline political participation during the 2011 Singapore General Election. Based on a national survey of Singapore citizens, it was found that using mobile phones to express opinions, discuss issues, and share news was positively related to both online and offline participation during the elections.
