Abstract

The objective of the current paper is to discuss the feasibility and necessity of studying acculturation of migrant children in China. The analyses on the subcultural differences between rural and urban societies and regional cultural differences provide solid basis for studies on acculturation of internal migrants in China. The necessity of studying acculturation of migrant children is demonstrated by summarizing the acculturative stresses of migrant children and reviewing previous studies in this field. Directions for further studies are also suggested in the paper.
