Abstract
The authors have developed a general theory by using the effective-medium approximation (EMA) to calculate the thermoelectric power coefficient S for polycrystalline metals. They apply the theory to the new high-Tcsuperconductors La2-xMxCuO4(M=Ba, Sr). The theory is in good agreement with experimental data for the doping concentration function S(x). © 1987 IOP Publishing Ltd.
