The creation and implementation of a gesture code for factory communication

Abstract

This paper reports on an approach and procedure to create and implement a gesture code as a viable method to facilitate worker-to-worker communication along production lines in factories with adverse physical conditions. Insights are drawn from observational studies and practitioner work at a salmon factory in France.
