Terahertz High-gain Open Resonator Antenna Based on Silicon-Etching and Imprinting

Research output: Conference Papers › RGC 33 - Other conference paper › peer-review

Abstract

A low profile and high gain open resonator antenna operating at one THz is demonstrated for the first time. Imprinting technologies in SU-8 and dry etching technologies in silicon are employed. A magneto-electric dipole is used to feed the resonator cavity for enhancing the radiation characteristics of the antenna. The proposed antenna is realized with over 20 dBi in antenna gain and low side lobe. With high precision microfabrication technologies, a THz open resonator antenna with smooth morphology and much lower profile than conventional horn and lens antennas is developed.
