Abstract

A series of Re(I) complexes of [Re(L)(CO)3Cl] (1, L = L1 = N-(2-pyridinylmethylene)-2,3,5,6,8,9,11,-12-octahydro-1,4,7,10,13- benzopentaoxacyclononadecan-16-ylamine; 2, L - L2 = N-(2-pyridinylmethylene)-phenylamine) and [Re(phen)(CO)3(L′)]+ (3, L′ = L3 = 1-(4-pyridinylformyl)aza-15-crown-5; 4, L′ = L4 = 4-(N,N-diethylformamido)pyridine) have been synthesized and their photophysical and cation binding properties studied. The X-ray crystal structure of 3 has also been determined. © 1995 American Chemical Society.
