Abstract

ZnO/TiO2 nanotube composite film had been successfully fabricated via a two-step route including anodic oxidation method and hydrothermal process. The anatase crystal of titania and the hexagonal wurtzite crystal of zinc oxide forms were identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Nanostructure as revealed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) indicated that the ZnO/TiO2 nanotube composite was highly oriented and organized into uniform tubular arrays with diameter ranging from 60 to 80 nm and length of 300 nm. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) showed that the composite is made up of TiO2 and ZnO. Furthermore, optical properties of the samples were also measured using diffuse reflectance UV-Vis spectroscopy (DRS). Compared with TiO2 nanotube, about 30 nm red shift was observed. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
