Abstract
Two novel cyano CuII-AuI bimetallic complexes, Cu(cyclen)[Au(CN)2]2 1 (cyclen = 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecanc) and Cu(pyz)[Au(CN)2]2 2 (pyz = pyrazine) were prepared; 1 has a dimeric structure arising from Au1 ... Au1 interactions, while 2 consists of linear pyrazine-bridged copper chains intercalated to produce a 2-D pleated sheet structure. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2000.
