Abstract

Virginia Harper Ho Virginia Harper Ho is a Professor of Law at the City University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on the intersections of corporate governance, finance, and securities regulation from a comparative perspective, and she has written recently on shareholder activism, ESG disclosure reform, and sustainable finance. Her work has been published in edited volumes and leading journals, and she has also recently contributed to ESG reform initiatives led by the of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) , the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil (Comissão de Valores Mobiliários) , and the US Securities and Exchange Commission. She received her JD from Harvard Law School. Around the world, market demand is rising for investment products and practices that take ‘environmental, social, and governance’ (ESG) factors into account, challenging asset managers and capital markets in new ways.
