Abstract
The surface oxidation behaviour of the Fe-40Cr-Pd, Fe-24Cr-5Mo-Pd, Pd-implanted Fe-40Cr and ion beam mixed Pd-FeCr alloys in air is reviewed. The Auger depth-profiles showed that Pd tends to segregate at the oxide/alloy interface of the Pd-containing Fe-Cr alloys oxidized in air at 400-500° C. SEM and EDX analyses also confirmed the enrichment of Pd at the oxide/alloy interface of the Fe-40Cr-3Pd alloy oxidized in air at 900° C. © 1992.
