Abstract
The superplastic deformation of the 2219 aluminum alloy was investigated. The sample had an initial grain size of 12 micrometers. The alloy exhibited superplasticity. The maximum elongation-to-failure of 675% was recorded at 500 degrees Celsius as well as strain rate. A special feature of the superplastic deformation of this alloy was the non-uniformity of grain boundary sliding.
