Abstract

A millimeter-wave substrate-integrated dielectric resonator (SIDR) linearly polarized (LP) multiple-input- multiple-output (MIMO) antenna is proposed. This MIMO antenna consists of two LP SIDR antennas (SIDRAs) with the center-to-center distance of 0.3λ0, where λ0 is the operating wavelength of center frequency in air. They are wrapped by a rectangular dielectric decoupler. This decoupler helps to reduce the strong mutual coupling between these two LP DRAs. A decoupled SIDRA operating in a millimeter-wave band was proposed, optimized, and simulated. Its simulated overlapping bandwidth (overlapping part of 10-dB impedance matching bandwidth and 20-dB isolation bandwidth) is of 5.7% (27.4-29.0 GHz). © 2023 IEEE.
