Abstract

In the application of induction machine (IM) drive for railway traction systems, sensorless control is extensively used for the purpose of cost control and reliability improvement. However, the performance of adaptive full-order observer (AFO) is highly dependent on the accuracy of the motor parameters, which will change during the motor operation. What's more, the error occurred in the speed estimation will leading to the failure in the decoupling of the torque from the flux or, in the worse case, the system destabilization. Therefore it is necessary to quantify the effect of parameter mismatch on speed estimation, this paper presents a parameter sensitivity analysis method for speed errors of the sensorless indirect field-oriented control (IFOC) system. In addition, a four-step analysis procedure is developed based on MATLAB to calculate the speed errors. Besides, comparative simulations are conducted to reveal the robustness to parameter mismatch of various discretization methods. ©2022 IEEE
