Abstract

The different methods used to calculate welded structures can take into account the effect of a field of residual stresses, by using a certain number of simplifying hypotheses. Various methods can be developed to measure and calculate residual stresses in welds. We are going to present two methods for measuring residual stresses, i. e. the step-by-step hole drilling method and the X-ray diffraction method.
