Study and analysis of planar microstrip reflectarray with photonic band gap structure

    Abstract

    Recently, experimental results have shown that a microstrip planar Photonic Band Gap (PBG) structure can increase the gain of an antenna. To benefit from this finding, a computer code was made to study and analyze the planar microstrip reflectarray with PBG structure. In addition, a microstrip square patch and a square aperture sandwiched by a dielectric layer were considered.
