Abstract

A linear matrix inequality (LMI) based optimization problem is formulated to maximize the real stability radius of a system by state feedback. Since a Metzlerian system admits a closed form expression for its stability radius, one can impose its constrained structure in the stabilization of a general system and at the same time maximize the stability radius.
