Abstract
Teaching approaches in the area of cross-cultural communication have developed to facilitate understanding of individuals from Western cultures. To fit an Asian audience, these approaches must be adapted and supplemented. Asians come from cultures that are described as high-context which contrasts with Western low-context culture. A successful cross-cultural teaching model should recognize and build on these differences. This paper describes a teaching module developed and used in Hong Kong and reports participant reactions to this modified approach.
