Abstract
By conducting a national survey among Chinese manufacturing companies, we enrich the current literature on green innovation by (1) investigating the strategic antecedents of its adoption among firms in emerging economies; we (2) analyze the moderating role of the central government support and demand uncertainty on the adoption of green innovation practices, as a competitive advantage within the industry; and we (3) present empirical evidence, through a longitudinal study, of the evolution of the positive influence of green innovation practices on financial and corporate performance.
