Abstract

In this paper, a model based on state and network analysis for simplifying reliability assessment of a system is described. This technique can provide optimization using the state analysis and can produce a predictive outcome using the network approach. This technique is particularly useful for establishing the reliability of small volume produced mostly safety critical systems and systems associated with critical communication protocols which cannot be easily assessed using the conventional techniques. To illustrate the potential use of this technique, the reliability of a simulated Optical Remote Control link using uncoded and coded data transmission will be described. The presented results are presented.
