Abstract
Computer generation of spiral tilings with colour symmetry is considered from a dynamical system's point of view. A relation is established between spiral symmetry and wallpaper symmetry. Wallpaper patterns can be created by means of equivariant mappings. Associated spiral patterns can then be obtained accordingly. Patterns with colour symmetry are particular striking. A few colour schemes are discussed for the creation of patterns with colour symmetry. This method can be used to create a great variety of artistic spiral patterns.
