Abstract

In a heterogeneous P2P Network environment, heterogeneous peers may have different storage size, transmission latency (related with data transmission rate), processing ability and even security level. So, traditional data searching algorithms are not applicable to such a network. Our work in this paper concentrates on how to effectively search multimedia data, so as to enable the data to be more effectively used with heterogeneous other peers. The detailed algorithm and experimental study will be discussed in the coming sections. A new searching algorithm called SPF-A* (Super Peer First A*) is designed, and a simulation study is conducted to support our proposal. © 2008 IEEE.
