Abstract

Size-resolved particle concentration was measured in a two-zone environmental controlled chamber. Water boiling and oil heating were used to mimic cooking emitted particles. Different domestic kitchen hood operation schedules were chosen to study particle exposure in the cooking and non-cooking zones. It is observed that hood operation at the cooking stage can substantially reduce particle concentration in both zones.
