Single-Inductor Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (SI-MIMO) Hybrid Converter for Smart Energy Harvesting Applications

Research output: Conference Papers › RGC 32 - Refereed conference paper (without host publication) › peer-review

Abstract

This paper introduces a novel single-inductor multiple-input multiple-output (SI-MIMO) hybrid converter topology designed for smart energy harvesting applications. In contrast to conventional single-inductor multiple-output (SIMO) inverters, which are restricted to a single DC input, the proposed design accommodates hybrid power sources such as solar and battery, while
simultaneously delivering multiple AC and DC outputs via a shared inductor. This architecture minimizes component count and overall solution size compared to multi-converter systems, enabling high efficiency and compact power management for applications such as ultrasonic motors (USMs), portable electronic devices and Internet-of-Things (IoT) nodes.
