Simultaneous Determination of Hyperstatic Girder with Nonlinear Flexible Bearings and Its Application in CAD of Machine Tool Spindle System

Research output: Journal Publications and Reviews › RGC 21 - Publication in refereed journal › peer-review

Abstract

A new approach for the determination of the static deformations of hyperstatic girder is presented in this paper. By applying joint theory. the boundary conditions of hyperstatic girder are replaced with the jointed conditions of joints, and an iteration method is employed to simultaneously determine the jointed conditions of joints and the boundary conditions of the girder. Boundary element methods are used to work out static deformations of the girder. Experimental results show that the calculation accuracy is improved considerably as comparing with that of conventional methods. Lastly, taking a designing lathe spindle system as an example, various design plans are analyzed and compared, and the most feasible improved plan is selected.
