Abstract

Rape statistics are not always published by countries. Even when they are published, the data are not always clearly defined. Comparisons of rape statistics amongst countries can provide an additional dimension toward understanding of the status of women and the development of healthcare for victims of rape. Several international agencies and some national agencies provide data which are tabulated here. The limitations and cautions in the use of these data would also be discussed. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd.
