Abstract
The global market for cloud gaming is growing rapidly. To reap its benefits, researchers and practitioners need to understand how gamers evaluate the quality of this emerging form of cloud service. Existing literature has focused predominantly on examining the technical infrastructure and aspects of cloud gaming, overlooking the evaluation from the perspective of individual gamers. Therefore, the primary aim of this study is to develop and validate an instrument for cloud gaming service quality. We will develop and validate the instrument through three stages: item generation, scale development, and instrument testing. This study will add to the literature on service quality and cloud gaming by developing and validating a new instrument of cloud gaming service quality and by identifying new dimensions specific to the context. Cloud gaming operators can measure gamers’ perception of service quality toward their offerings using this new measurement instrument of cloud gaming service quality. © 2022, Association for Information Systems.
